September 28, 2023, WASHINGTON, D.C. — Human Coalition Action on Thursday responded to last night’s Republican presidential debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

Rev. Dean Nelson, Executive Director of Human Coalition Action, issued the following statement:

“We welcome Gov. DeSantis’ vigorous defense of the pro-life cause tonight. Voters want leaders who will fight boldly for each individual life, and who will not settle for the amount of mass death they deem acceptable.

“Scientific advances have enabled us to see more clearly in recent years what we always knew to be true – the child in the womb is a human being and must be protected from the moment of conception. We will stand with DeSantis and any other candidate who actually fights for these lives and won’t leave them up to convenient compromises.”

Chelsey Youman, Texas State Director and National Legislative Advisor with Human Coalition Action, on Wednesday issued the following statement:

“We were thrilled to see Gov. DeSantis make a bold and uncompromising stand for children in the womb at tonight’s debate. He correctly identified life as a winning issue and emphasized the need to counter the utter extremism of the abortion industry. By understanding that “we’re better off when everybody counts,” Gov. DeSantis courageously led to the heart of the issue–every single human matters.

“When our leaders articulate the pro-life message boldly, confidently, and without compromise, they give their voters a concrete reason to support them. We urge all the Republican presidential candidates to show such unflinching leadership for the vulnerable in the coming weeks and months.”
