WASHINGTON, DC, November 9, 2023 – Chelsey Youman, National Legislative Advisor with Human Coalition Action, on Thursday issued the following statement after Wednesday night’s GOP presidential debate in Miami:
“What we heard last night from the candidates is a start, but long-term success in ending abortion will demand more than rhetoric. The results of Tuesday night’s elections show more than ever that we need bold, principled, winsome pro-life leaders, and laws that not only protect children in the womb but also ensure that vulnerable mothers have the support they need to choose life.
“We need leaders who won’t stop protecting life at 15 weeks, who won’t abandon the right to life when states reject it. We need leaders who will convince women that the pro-life movement has their back. We need leaders who will go on offense not with halfhearted policy proposals, but by building a groundswell of support for transformative legislation.
“The pro-life movement will rally around a leader who reflects all – not only some – of the above merits.”
