January 18, 2023, WASHINGTON, DC — On Wednesday, Human Coalition Action announced its support of the Pregnancy Center Support Act of 2024, which would allow a specific tax credit for contributions to pregnancy centers around the country.
Chelsey Youman, National Legislative Advisor with Human Coalition Action, issued the following statement in favor of the bill:
“We welcome the Pregnancy Center Support Act of 2024 and see it as a golden opportunity to strengthen care for vulnerable women who often face a lack of support, adequate finances, education, proper employment, health insurance, and proper medical care. ”
“Pregnancy centers across the country, meeting the needs of women in underserved areas, providing them with life changing care and support at a time when they need it the most. They offer them a range of services: material assistance, counseling, medical services and referrals, parenting programs, and maternal health care. They are on the front lines of saving lives and ensuring strong, healthy families while simultaneously being attacked by angry abortion activists. They deserve the backing of the public.”

Pregnancy centers offer services to women and families across the country. There are approximately 3,000 pregnancy centers across the U.S. providing a range of services to nearly one million new clients a year at little to no cost. The value of care pregnancy centers offer their clients, amounts to at least $358 million annually.
The Pregnancy Center Support Act of 2024, would allow for a nonrefundable tax credit of 50% of contributions to pregnancy centers, for up to $10,000 in donations per year for individuals and businesses and up to $20,000 for joint filers. Under this bill, any unused amounts of the credit can be carried for up to five years for individuals.
