June 4, 2024, WASHINGTON, DC — Chelsey Youman, National Legislative Advisor with Human Coalition Action, issued the following statement on Tuesday on the hearing of the full Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) on abortion:
“This hearing is a mockery designed to cover for the Senate Democrats’ real agenda – carrying water for the abortion industry instead of meeting the actual needs of women.
“Here’s the reality: The vast majority of women considering abortion would prefer to parent if their circumstances were different. And there is a network of 2,700 pregnancy centers nationwide that give vulnerable women access to life-changing care and support they didn’t know they could have. This is true empowerment, not an extreme agenda that pushes abortion for any reason without solving any of the underlying problems these women are facing.
“The pro-life movement stands ready to provide real solutions to problems of poor health care and maternal mortality rates by serving women and meeting their tangible needs – not by killing their children.”
