November 9, 2022, AUSTIN, Texas — Human Coalition Action on Wednsday applauds the re-election of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, and Attorney General Ken Paxton, and a pro-life majority in the Texas state legislature.
“We are thrilled that Texans re-elected pro-life champions of the most significant pro-life legislation in 50 years,” said Chelsey Youman, National Legislative Advisor with Human Coalition Action.
“Governor Abbott led Texas with strength, signing both the Texas Heartbeat Act and the Human Life Protection Act into law and making Texas one of the most pro-life states in the country. Lieutenant Governor Patrick courageously guided those initiatives through the Legislature. And General Paxton skillfully defended the Heartbeat Act before the U.S. Supreme Court. The scourge of legal abortion has been effectively eliminated in Texas thanks to their strong leadership.
“We are also grateful that voters affirmed our pro-life state legislators tonight. They’re responsible for a watershed of pro-life policies like the Alternatives to Abortion program, that protect children in the womb and support vulnerable mothers.
“The future is bright in Texas, and we can’t wait to continue building a culture of life in law next Session.”
