October 7, 2024, AUSTIN, Texas — Chelsey Youman, National Legislative Advisor with Human Coalition Action, issued the following statement on Monday after the Georgia Supreme Court allowed the Georgia LIFE Act to go back into effect while considering an appeal of a lower court’s ruling:
“We are grateful that the Georgia Supreme Court will allow the LIFE Act to remain in effect as it considers an appeal. Before it was struck down last week by a judge with a history of ruling with abortion activists, this law was saving lives for almost a year since it went into effect. This court’s prompt action will save even more lives.
“We ask the court to ultimately uphold the LIFE Act – and thereby uphold the authority and duty of the state’s elected officials to protect all people, including vulnerable children in the womb, under the law.”
