This evening, the U.S. Senate confirmed Judge Amy Coney Barrett as a Supreme Court Justice. The White House is expected to host her swearing-in ceremony later tonight. In response, Human Coalition Action National Legislative Advisor Chelsey Youman issued the following statement:
“Human Coalition Action applauds the Senate for providing Judge Amy Coney Barrett a fair hearing and a swift vote in favor of her confirmation to the United States Supreme Court. Judge Barrett is an accomplished scholar and principled originalist, consistently deciding cases in accordance with the original meaning of the Constitution as a federal judge. There is no right to abortion in the Constitution. Her addition to the Supreme Court gives pro-life Americans hope that the disastrous and unworkable Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey framework will finally be overturned, with the right to life extended to all preborn babies.”
