November 6, 2024, WASHINGTON, DC — Chelsey Youman, National Legislative Advisor with Human Coalition Action, on Wednesday issued the following statements on the results of Tuesday’s presidential election.
“Tonight, Americans’ clear rejection of an extreme abortion agenda is resounding across our nation. After years of abortion propaganda and lies, tonight’s election reminds us the American heart embraces truth. Now the hard work of building a hopeful future for children in the womb and their mothers begins.
“The Harris-Walz ticket’s extreme abortion policies were out-of-touch with Americans. They pushed taxpayer-funded abortion-on-demand throughout pregnancy, wanted to throw out protections for babies who survive abortions, and promised to force health care workers to perform abortions against their conscientious beliefs.
“President Trump now has a choice before him. Will his legacy protect vulnerable pregnant women and their children? Or will he choose to abandon them in his second term?
We hope President Trump will enact positive life-affirming policies such as funding pregnancy centers that help women in need, bolster protections against abortion pills, defund Planned Parenthood, and bring a permanent end to the reckless use of the FACE Act to prosecute peaceful pro-life advocates.
“President Trump has the opportunity to cement his legacy as a transformational pro-life president, and we urge him to seize it to enact long standing protections for women and children. Now is the time.”
