WASHINGTON, DC, June 27, 2024 – Chelsey Youman, National Legislative Advisor for Human Coalition Action, on Thursday issued the following statement following abortion comments in the first 2024 Presidential Debate:

“If we are going to be a nation that provides compassionate care to pregnant women in need, we must have strong and steadfast leadership. The decision to allow the genocide of abortion cannot be left up to the states. We applaud the work that President Trump did while in office to nominate Supreme Court Justices who overturned Roe, but the battle for the protection of vulnerable children and families in our country is not over. We must continue advocating for strong policies at the federal and state levels that care for and protect women and children.

“This November, we are working to elect candidates who promote life-affirming policies that protect children in the womb and empower vulnerable women seeking abortion through education, medical care, mental health support and material resources. More than 80 percent of Americans support pregnancy centers. Now, more than ever, we need a leader that values the dignity of all human life and makes abortion unimaginable in our country.”
